IEP allows users to be added with just 'requesting rights'; setting up support staff with these permissions will allow them to just add requests on IEP.
IEP uses emails to notify users of both successful and failed deliveries. The configuration of notifications can be refined to significantly reduce the number of emails generated. Please contact our support desk if you would like assistance in with this. The new release includes an ability to pool routine notification reducing the number of emails further.
Studies and associated reports stay on IEP for 15 days. During that period they can be downloaded, or if you have the viewer option enabled, you can view the studies; they are automatically deleted after 15 days, even if they have not been downloaded or viewed.
There are two solutions to this problem. IEP can be configured so that the default destination for studies is a work list held on IEP. These studies can then either be selected or downloaded to your PACS, or, if you have the viewer option configured, you can view the studies and decide which ones to prepare and download.
Primary Care facilities, such as GP's and Physiotherapists can access IEP to request studies from a Trust and then use the viewer to view the images and reports. Users do not need any specific hardware to use IEP, just access to the N3 Network.
The new release of IEP supports a direct PUSH from PACS via the IEP to a pre-configured destination. This means that only a single VPN will be required to directly push studies to anyone connected to the IEP (PACS association required on sending PACS). You then have the peace of mind of being able to call on the IEP Helpdesk for help when needed as these transactions are recorded in the IEP and the monitoring system.
The new release of IEP includes functionality to restrict which Trusts can send to individual nodes. Once configured, only Trusts that have been specifically allowed will be able to direct send studies to restricted nodes.
The new release of IEP supports node access control, restricting both query and download operations by node.
